An Intimacy of Friends was born of a creative process that investigated the problem of power in a creative hierarchy. The result seems to be a love story so familiar that it has become mundane. The consequences of which seek to illuminate a mutual path forward.

Zero-to-1 Collective is comprised of co-creators Kyrsten Blair, Edward Mitchell, and Kenna Burima. Kyrsten Blair is a multidisciplinary artist focused on choreography, literacy, and theatre. She’s worked with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association, Calgary Opera, Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, Global Fest, Calgary Pride, and the UofC. Edward Mitchell holds a BA in Dance (UofC) and worked with Blue Collar, Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, Corpus, and Theatre Junction, and curated plink, plink, plink, and The Uncertain Future Festival for Bubonic Tourist. Kenna Burima’s work spans the indie-folk of Woodpigeon, the sweaty garage sludge of Brenda Vaqueros, and a collaboration with One Yellow Rabbit – The Calgary Songs Project – that saw her compose for the largest and loudest of instruments: the Calgary Tower’s carillon.
